Summary of the Minutes of the regular meeting of the City Commission held Monday, August 24, 2026, at 7:00 p.m., in the City Commission Room, 320 W. Broadway St., Mt. Pleasant, Michigan with virtual options.

New business Item 14: “Consider motion to direct staff to do a comparison analysis to the responsible contractor’s ordinance presented on August 10, 2026 to current vetting process when considering bids for capital improvement projects.”  was added to the Agenda.

New business Item 15: “Consider motion to rescind July 27, 2026 decision to approve termination of PRD Agreement.” was added to the Agenda.

Approved the Agenda as amended.

9) Grant a permanent easement across City-owned parcel 17-000-00600-00 for a private sanitary sewer lead serving the adjacent downtown properties and authorize the Mayor to execute the necessary documents as prepared;

10) Participation in the Consumers Energy Renewable Program and authorized the City Manager to sign the contract;

11) Payrolls & Warrants.

Work Session discussion regarding letter submitted by a community partner concerning housing related concerns, the Tenants Rights Committee, and related steering committee efforts.  Draft Resolution N was reviewed and discussed.

Approved and conducted Closed Session pursuant to subsection 8(h) of the Open Meetings Act to consider material subject to attorney-client privilege.
