  • Public hearing to allow input on the proposed 2026 City budget.
  • Consider project agreement for $400,000 Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Trust Fund Grant to support the North Pathway project and adopt a related resolution.
  • Consider the Housing Commission’s request to renew the Municipal Services Agreement (MSA).
  • Work session on the Immigration Trust Act.

Here are the topics to watch at the next in person, as well as virtual Mt. Pleasant City Commission meeting scheduled for Monday, October 27, 2025, at 7 p.m.

  • Consider approval of the purchase of a mini excavator from Michigan CAT for $95,199, a tandem-axle trailer from Team One Trailers for $11,300, and a budget amendment of $6,500.
  • Consider authorizing the continued use of the commercial fuel program with Coyne Oil until December 31, 2030.
  • Consider approval of the amended lease agreement with MetroPCS Michigan for the cellular tower located at 1301 N. Franklin Street.
  • Consider setting a public hearing for November 10th, 2025, to allow for public input on an Ordinance to renew and amend the Mt. Pleasant, Michigan Central Business District Development Plan and Tax Increment Financing Plan, adopted on April 15, 1985, as amended.

Summary of Minutes of the regular meeting of the City Commission held Monday, May 13, 2024, at 7:00 p.m., in the City Commission Room, 320 W. Broadway St., Mt. Pleasant, Michigan with virtual options.

Mayor Perschbacher read and presented a proclamation recognizing Public Works Week May 19 – 25, 2024 to Public Works Director Jason Moore.

Approved the agenda as presented.

Received petitions and communications.

Approved the following items on the Consent Calendar:

6) Minutes of the April 22, 2024, City Commission meeting.

7) Contract with Peerless-Midwest for the High Service Pump No. 2 Rehabilitation project.

8) Resolution authorizing an amendment to the Standard Lighting Contract with Consumers Energy.

9) Resolution authorizing the submission of a 2024 MDOT Shared Streets and Spaces Grant application for the Mid-Michigan/GKB Trail Project.

10) Received proposed Managed Natural Landscaping Ordinance and set public hearing for Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. on same.

11) Warrants and payrolls.

Held a public hearing and approved the Resolution authorizing a DDA License for Narrativality Artisan Coffee Roasters, LLC and directed staff to conduct all necessary steps for DDA License.

Discussed 2024 millage rate. No action was taken.

Approved a contract extension with Nutrigro Environmental Solutions, Inc. until July 11, 2026, for biosolids hauling and land application.

Discussed Food Truck Ordinance amendments.

Approved a Resolution amending the PACE District.

Appointed Jonathan Croft to the Parks and Recreation Commission.

Held a Work Session discussion on 2025-2030 Capital Improvement Plan.

Held a Work Session discussion on Tax Increment Finance (TIF) Plan extension.
