On May 12, 2023 at 2:26 p.m. the Mt. Pleasant Fire Department (MPFD) responded to a house fire in the 1100 block of East Bellows Street in Mt. Pleasant.
Upon arrival, crews observed a two-story residence with fire and heavy smoke coming from the rear of the home. The fire was brought under control by 2:50 p.m. The house sustained heavy smoke, heat and fire damage to the second floor. The residents were at home at the time of the fire and were able to exit the structure safely.
The MPFD is investigating the cause of the fire.
The MPFD was assisted by the Saginaw Chippewa Tribal Fire Department, Mt. Pleasant Police Department, Mobile Medical Response, DTE Energy, Consumers Energy and Isabella County Central Dispatch.
