UPDATE: Suspects in Campus Habitat Apartment Shooting Arraigned

At 5:57 p.m. on April 20, 2020, officers of the Mt. Pleasant Police Department responded to a call of a shooting at Campus Habitat apartments located in the 700 block of Edgewood Drive.

Upon arrival officers determined the location of the shooting and secured the area. A 21-year-old male was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim was identified as Raven Tre-Von Edelen from Wyoming, Michigan.

Through witness statements and further investigative leads, a shooting suspect was quickly identified as 20-year-old male, Miykael Norfleat from Chicago, Illinois. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Isabella County Jail.

Norfleat was arraigned in the Isabella County Court on April 22, 2020 and charged with:

  • Homicide/Open Murder
  • Home Invasion in the First Degree
  • Possession of a Firearm
  • Carrying a Concealed Weapon

Norfleat is currently lodged in the Isabella County Jail on a $1,000,000 cash bond.

Further investigation also led to Justin Collins, a 22-year old male who resides in Mt. Pleasant, being charged.

Collins was arraigned in the Isabella County Court on April 22, 2020 and charged with:

  • Homicide/Open Murder
  • Home Invasion in the First Degree
  • Felony Firearm/Weapons Offense

Collins is currently lodged in the Isabella County Jail on a $1,000,000 cash bond.
